Emma – The Sleep Company Will Debut its Emma Motion Smart Mattress » BedTimes Magazine

SEATTLE – Developed in collaboration between Emma’s industry-leading R&D team, product success team and its technology partners, the Emma Motion combines intelligent technology and world-class engineering to deliver a product that meets the needs of both the retailer and the consumer.

“My team and I have a strong understanding of this space and what it takes to win in this category,” said Scott Smalling, chief commercial and innovation director at Emma – The Sleep Company. “Our research and development team, which includes our dedicated sleep research team led by Dr. Verena Senn, is dedicated to developing innovative products like the Emma Motion mattress with the goal of positively impacting people’s lives through better sleep. The Emma Motion itself includes innovative, groundbreaking features and premium comfort materials compared to a traditional “air mattress,” and it’s also competitively priced,” continued Smalling.

The Emma Motion is the first active mattress in Emma’s product range that ensures optimal body support and spinal alignment during the night. It features three zones of independent support per side – shoulder, lumbar and hip – that respond via real-time automatic adjustment. Each zone can also be manually adjusted via the Emma Motion App to optimize user experience and personal needs. Dual control units also allow the user to operate each side of the bed quietly, gently and simultaneously to ensure that other people’s sleep in the bed is not disturbed.

The Emma Motion mattress is also topped off with Emma’s exclusive titanium fiber with graphite memory foam, which wicks away excess body heat and quickly brings the body to the ideal temperature to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep.

In addition, the Emma Motion features polyurethane constructed air cells with RF welded seams for durability and long life, is roll packable for ease of transport to the consumer’s home, and comes with a full 10 year warranty.

Vincent Passanisi, Emma’s executive vice president of sales in the US, believes that’s exactly what the retail market is lacking. “Smart technology at competitive prices that makes it available to more customers walking through the retailer’s door, allowing the retailer to increase their AUSP while having a broader range of sleep categories than ever before.”

Manuel Muller, co-founder and CEO of Emma added: “Both Dr. Dennis Schmoltzi, my co-founder, and I are very excited to be taking part in our US debut in the global market later this month and the team we will be assembling in the US. The US market offers us significant opportunities and we believe our success here through product innovation and world-class engineering will truly help us in our goal of becoming the world’s leading provider of sleep solutions.”

Emma also introduces 3 new mattress lines, each with 3 models; an All Foam, Hybrid and Emma’s innovative and patented SHIFT technology which is an industry first. The ACT (Active Cooling Technology) line is highlighted by a graphite memory foam, the Titanium Cool™ line is highlighted by Emma’s exclusive and patented titanium fiber with graphite memory foam and finally the Inspiration line is highlighted by a new and Patented Bio Highlighted -Cool memory foam.

Emma’s new collections will be on display later this month at the Specialty Sleep Association Pavilion in Building C-1565 at the World Market.
